Last night I did the first official Bicycle Astronomy star party in Richards Park here in G-town. About 40 people showed up, a mix of local supporters who knew about it from kickstarter and people who saw the signs I placed around Geneva earlier in the day. The sky was clear, and I let the universe do its thing (which is to knock people’s socks off). This short time lapse is me loading my bike with the two telescopes and other gear that I needed, probably adding up to 80 pounds or so. The ride downhill to the park was a breeze, the way home was a little more challenging. But it was an awesome night, and I hope for many more like it.
