Curiosity Rover To Land on Mars

Look up audacious in the dictionary and there should be a picture of NASA’s new robotic mars rover, Curiosity. It’s due to land in just a few hours on the surface of the Red Planet, and what a landing it promises to be. Check out this video for a good sense of the drama, and then wonder with me how such a stolid, boring agency like NASA got behind such a scheme. Good on them, and as I wrote before, the robotic missions are really the shining light of the space program and have been for some time, overshadowing the manned program in results, bang for the buck, and, once you watch this I’m sure you’ll agree, shear audacity. Go Curiosity!
